A communique sent to members of the American Association of Grain Inspection & Weighing Agencies on issues affecting official grain inspection.

OFFICIAL AGENCIES MEET WITH CATTLE FEEDERS & SUPPLIERS

On March 13th in Amarillo, Texas, cattle feeders, grain suppliers and official grain inspection agencies met to discuss the electronic issuance of grade results to interested parties. The feeders would like to get to a paperless environment. Those attending from agencies: Awyna Sanchez, Farwell Grain Inspection; Cash and Sharon Burris, Amarillo Grain Exchange; Mike Adams, North Dakota Grain Inspection-Adams.Net; Tom Meyer, Kansas Grain Inspection Service; Bill Davis, Plainview Grain Inspection; and Ken Critchfield, FOM Wichita Federal Office. Cattle Feeders were Friona Industries, Caprock Inc. and Cactus Feeders. Several suppliers were present such as ADM, DeBruce, Cargill and Bartlett


NO GENERAL AAGIWA SUMMER MEETING

In July 2002 the Board voted not to have summer meetings, as these meetings were not well attended. It has been decided to have a Board meeting in Kansas City late July and invite all members. There will be more information on this at a later date.


NO FEDERAL GRAIN ADVISORY MEETING

The Federal Grain Advisory Meeting to be held in Portland this spring has been canceled. It is to be rescheduled at a later date.


STUGGART FIELD OFFICE ANNUAL MEETING

The Stuttgart Field Office will be holding their annual area meeting in St. Louis on April 16th and 17th. Government officials and industry representatives will be present. AAGIWA will be represented by several agencies. A follow-up on the meeting will be provided in a future Grain-Gram
