A communique sent to members of the American Association of Grain Inspection & Weighing Agencies on issues affecting official grain inspection.

The AAGIWA Annual Meeting in Las Vegas on January 26-27 was once again a well attended and informative meeting. It was one of our biggest meetings in recent years. Highlights of the meeting included Mr. Jerry Slocam from North Mississippi Grain discussing genetics to improve the quality of US soybeans. Scott Anderson from Kansas Farmers Insurance on what, as business owners we should be concerned with. Mark Olson and Ted Sondgeroth with Gamet and Intersystems discussing automatic samplers.

The GIPSA portion was well attended with Donna Reifschneider, Dave Orr, Chuck Briton, and Neil Porter giving an overview of current projects that relate to FGIS. The biggest concerns expressed by AAGIWA members focused on the Minnesota Pilot Program and possible user fee implementation on OCIS.

Larry Kitchen of Missouri and Dave Reeder were elected to the board of directors. They will serve 2 year terms.

A possible summer meeting in Washington DC is being explored by Tim Adams and Dave Ayers.

Anyone looking for used equipment should contact Tim Adams in Memphis.

If anyone has any newsworthy items to be passed along please contact Tom Dahl at SCINSPW@AOL.COM. We will include them in our next Grain-Gram

Grain-Gram is an informal update sent to AAGIWA members. Information in the Grain-Gram is collected from members. Information to be published should be sent to
