AAGIWA's 2002 Annual Meeting
in Las Vegas to
Focus on Change and Growth

Key leaders from the government and the grain industry will meet with AAGIWA members at their Annual Meeting to help chart a course through a changing business and regulatory climate. AAGIWA will be addressing change in our individual agencies and in the association.

AAGIWA returns to the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas for its Annual Meeting on January 20th through the 23rd. This resort has played host to AAGIWA for six years now, providing quality meeting space and accommodations, along with a very convenient location in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.

The Board of Directors will meet Sunday afternoon at 1:00pm. Association members are welcome to attend. Registration will begin at 3:00pm, followed by a welcoming reception at 6:00pm at the Monte Carlo Pub Brewery.

Monday’s schedule will be a departure from previous years. This year’s association business meeting will be held Monday morning, to discuss with the membership the changes in our management structure and bylaws. Monday afternoon will be free time. Tuesday’s meeting will include discussions with GIPSA officials and with members of the grain industry. Invitees include Bill Hawks, Undersecretary of Agriculture for Marketing and Regulatory Programs, Jerry Slocum, owner/operator of a grain elevator in Mississippi and past President and current Board member of the United Soybean Board, Jonaphia Ang of Originals Online, and the Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission.

Make your plans now to attend this important and informative meeting. Las Vegas has proven to be a good venue for our meetings, with its casual, relaxed atmosphere and pleasantly mild winter weather, along with the many attractions the city and the surrounding high desert countryside have to offer.
